Everyone of us,and I do mean Everyone colored eggs and brought them for the hunt. They were always counted and before and after just to be sure no one was getting poisoned by finding last years stash!. Donna (Grandma) was very particular about her food. Always the cleanest, always the freshest always the best. I loved that about her.

One special year we must have had 10 to 12 dozen eggs for the nieces and nephews to find. The eggs were counted and hid as usual. (Or so we thought)
Steven J. Perry had an extra egg he had not told anyone about, but made sure it was hidden with the rest of the many colored eggs. As the hunt came to an end The baskets collected so as to make a count, of course the count was off. Not just off but by one egg, and Not just off by one egg but over by one egg. This was very troubling to Donna (Grandma), and the children had to wait before going home or playing the usual games so a "Re-count" could be made. I don't remember how long the joke went on but Steve finally told Her what he had done. We do hope that was enough to satisfy her, but the young ones could then start eating their eggs.

I wonder if anyone else remembers, but Steve was also the one to throw Donna (Grandma) into the river on the River Run at one of the reunions in Vernal.

I'm sorry I was never able to met her, though I did go to the last egg hunt at the house.
That makes me laugh...Dad loves to tease to this day.
You know that is probably the proof in the pudding why Kalob likes the Perrys. Thanks for sharing, I didn't remember that drama just all the fun:)
Such fun memories! Thanks for sharing!
