I just want to let everyone know how special my little sister is. Jolyn plans this McKee family summer reunion Every Year, why you ask, I think Because she does such a great job no one else dares attempt to compete.
Because she is the only one with the time. Hardly. *She had her son's wedding May 24, She and Mike had his nieces funeral Friday June 6, and she was taking finals Friday night June 6Th for this term.*
But simply because that's the way it is and probably will continue to be. We are so blessed to have her enthusiasm, knowledge and willingness to share. This year she really outdid herself. She had several things planned and many more in the wings for backup as needed. The weather didn't really allow us to get everything done she wanted yet it was a great outing.
The food was great as usual Thank you Aunt Betty for the Pulled Pork Sandwiches. The company was the BEST. Jackie helped with the Scrapbooks this year, she is a "Creative Memories" Rep and the options and ideas were wonderful. Thank you Jackie. (If you were unable to attend the Raffle, which helps pay for this craft, but would like to have these pages, They are still available From Jolyn at $3.50 per page. If you only want copies of the Photos, they are $.30 per print.) Nadine had the Scavenger Hunt, we have played this one before, where you find how you are related to the person wearing a certain item of clothing, with raffle tickets to the children attending as the prize. Marte was there with his "Pop Bottle Rockets" Uncle Jack and Bob showed us how to make whistles from a willow branch, fantastic fun, especially for those who were allowed to use Grandpas or Dads pocket knife, but our whistles have seen better days and after several attempts, Marte just started whistling every time someone would blow on their Willow Whistle. Good Job Marte. We had Boondoggle, still there from 6 year ago, but this year everyone wanted to try. We had a rousing game of Keep away, no I think they called it Football, with Ono playing defence on both ends of the field. He should have slept well that night. Kyle and Jay made this event fun and noisy for all. The conversation around the fire was as always very informative and as always someone said "why aren't we taping this." Thank you Jolyn for making this the best summer event again this year. You are the Best. Thanks to all who attended and for those who were unable to be there, we hope to see you next year.

Susan, it looks like you all had a wonderful time even if the numbers were small. Aren't families great!
Hi Susan! I'm so glad you found my little family. Don't worry, it's ok if you blogstalk, I secretly do too! It sounds like your family reunion turned out great! I remember hearing all of the stories from reunions years ago and wishing we did fun things like that! Jolyn is definitely one of a kind! I miss living by them and see you guys all the time. It was great to hear from you! Stop in on our blog anytime.
Great pictures. The reunion was fun. The kids had a blast and Jake is still trying to work on a whistle. Thanks for the fun.
