Farm Rules

There are some very specific rules that you just follow on the farm, most of it is common sense. (Which was The topic of my High School Graduation Speech) You never enter the Hay field without a hat, gloves, water, and proper shoes. You will be working with heavy bales and lots of chains on the bale wagon, They go up and down, over and under. everything has a purpose and almost everything moves. My Dad, (AKA Papa Kee) needed help getting first crop in and ask KMG and TMG to help, I didn't let them go yesterday because he was too dizzy and I couldn't be there with them. Today, Jolyn would be there with them so I thought everyone would be safe, and I took them to the lower field to let them help. They didn't understand what I was explaining and so I stepped up to show them, wouldn't you know it, A bale caught in the chain that lifts it and was jammed. I tried to free it and Dad shut everything off, so I stepped closer. WRONG MOVE. I lifted the bale and Dad put it back in gear. The chain started and my foot was in the way. It caught the top of my SANDAL (Dumb Dumb Dumb) and ripped it off, tearing the skin between the toes as it went. We finished that row of bales and that was all I could do. The Doctors office was closer than home and the three little ones and I left as soon as Jolyn came. We stopped in at the South Jordan Clinic. by the time I got there my Sandal was destined for the Bio-Hazard bin, The nurses were great with the kids, they put them in front of a TV with cartoons and I don't think they even knew I wasn't there.

and So this is what I came home with ! ! Very Fashionable don't you think ! !

And this is what is under the blue chuck.

If you would rather not look, you better change blogs now.And this is what is under the wrap and bandages ! !

OUCH!! I'm glad it wasn't any worse. I guess you need to follow your own farm rules, although I am not one to talk about proper shoes. How it all heals well.

Ouch, ouch, ouch...I hope it heals fast! I'm fine with cuts everywhere else, but mess with my toes or feet, and I'm a goner. But hey a good excuse to have hubby help out!!
