Thanks to Walmart

We returned to Chevron Employees HR for our Insurance needs this year and after hours of research and prayer, we changed our insurance back to an insurance plan offered for retirees.
It is that time of year, I need refills on meds.
My Family Practice doctor does not take our new insurance.
They will let me continue to see him, but I have to pay upfront and file all insurance on my own. STRIKE ONE
There is no problem with Don seeing him, because Medicare is his primary and then they file for anything not covered to the secondary. His secondary is the same as my Primary, but they still won't take my insurance. (go Figure)" OKay
Unfortunately, I have a recent history with the "After Hours" Doctors and they now will take my new insurance. The South Jordan Office even has a Primary Care program and is taking on new patients. One good thing
The Pharmacy we have been using for several years informed us Don was not even covered at all. Just how did that happen, I am not sure. STRIKE TWO
I had filled my prescriptions there earlier in the month with no problem, just higher copays. The fact that the copays went up made me think I would try Walmart because they advertize that they have a $4.00 copay for generic.
So off to the South Jordan, (Grandpa Fairbourns) Walmart. I turned in Dons' Perscriptions at the Drop Off window and was told it would take a few minutes. 10 minutes later I was paged to the Pharmacy, thinking that didn't take too long I hurried back to "Pick Up".
No such luck. they said Don did not have Perscription Insurance, and quoted me some outragous prices for his refills, some of which I could get Over the Counter for Less. I took and paid for two of the meds and left three others to be picked up the next day when I got paid.
When I went yesterday to pick these three perscriptions up, again they said I would have to wait. One of the Pharmacists was on the phone and talking with our Insurance. She ask me for a new Pharmacy Card, but I had given her the new one we received in January. She continued to talk with the Insurance.
FINALLY, after 25 minutes and several questions, she handed me a sticky note with some numbers on it. She told me to hang on to them Don is covered with Part D of his medicare just as he has been for the last two years and he really does have insurance, It just took a persistant Pharmacist to find this out. Thank you Walmart.

We were almost to STRIKE Three and Don was ready to walk out several times without getting any results. Now thanks to that very good caring Pharmacist we can afford to fill our perscriptions and still have money left over to fill the gas tank.

I am glad someone cared enough to check things out for you. Insurance and meds cost so much but you need them.
