This second weekend of June for the Third consecutive time we spent it with the Lloyds. This year we left Friday afternoon for Del and Rebecca's' Cabin at Strawberry Reservoir. Don was ready, dressed, packed, truck gassed up and chomping at the bit at 11AM. Ryan did not get off until 3PM, Tina had all the Children at the Dentist until after Noon. Poor Don Patience has never been his strongest character trait.
The weather was wet,
but we knew we had a wonderful warm, dry and safe place to be.
We left Salt Lake Valley about 4:30PM, up Parley Canyon, through Heber and up Daniels Canyon with only one Potty Stop, and two stops to try and purchase a fishing license. (Can't blame that on the youngsters.)
Arrived at the Cabin about 6PM. Plugged in the Water heater. Turned on the lights, plopped the baby on a warm rug in front of a TV and unloaded the vehicles.
Dinner was great, everyone was hungry, and it always tastes better at someone elses house, or cabin as the case may be.
We visited and enjoyed the company until about 8PM when everyone was ready to find a resting place.
Saturday morning started off great, English Muffin Sandwiches, milk, juice and fresh fruit. Then at about 8AM, the power went out. Don and Ryan rode over to the Ranger station to check out the situation. The power was out everywhere in the Strawberry Valley. It would flash on just long enough for the kids to think that they could put a movie in and then be off again with the DVD locked inside the player, oh my.
They weather continued very rainy with thick patches of fog. There were times we could not see the resevoir from the front window.
We had a cold lunch, yummy chicken sandwiches, cut fruit and vegies, chips and wonderful mountain water.
Because the Water Heater is Electric we had soon gone through all the hot water with only half of us having had our showers.
The storm continued and we decided to come back to Salt Lake and try for another weekend.

Thanks to Del and Rebecca for a wonderful location to spend time with our family.
